Browsing is anonymous

You can search the whole directory, open any opportunity, compare programs, and download the CSV without an account. Filters, saved stars, and your language choice are kept in your own browser's storage — they never reach us.

What we store if you make an account

  • Sign-in details — your email address, held by our authentication provider.
  • Your farm profile — the answers you give in the wizard: farm name, state and county, entity type, years farming, acreage, revenue range, operation types, practices, whether you have a farm number, UEI, or EIN, and any set-aside categories you select.
  • Your goals and plan — what you're trying to fund, your cost estimate, and the matches the readiness engine computed for you.
  • Your tracker — opportunities you save, their status, your notes, and any deadline reminders you schedule.

Who can see it

Your profile, goals, matches, saved opportunities, and reminders are private to your account and enforced at the database level — other signed-in users cannot read them. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with USDA, lenders, or any listed program. Applying to a program is always something you do yourself, on the agency's own site.

Working with a helper organization

Some conservation districts, extension offices, and nonprofits use this site to sit down with a farmer and fill out the wizard together. When that happens:

  • Nothing is shared without your yes. An organization can only see your farm if you grant access — by ticking the separate consent box when you claim a profile they started for you. Consent is never bundled into signing up.
  • The optional identity questions are never shared. Set-aside categories (such as beginning, veteran, or socially disadvantaged status) are invisible to organizations, even ones you've granted access to.
  • You can take access back at any time. The "Who can see my farm" panel on your dashboard lists every organization with access, lets you switch them between view-only and view-and-edit, and removes access immediately when you say so.
  • Unclaimed drafts expire. If a helper starts a profile for you and you never claim it, that draft — and the goals and matches attached to it — is deleted automatically after 90 days.
  • Organizations keep activity counts, not your farm. An organization's own reporting shows how many sessions they ran, which goal categories came up, and which counties they served. It does not show award outcomes and does not retain your farm record after a draft is purged or access is removed.

Suggestions and reminder signups

If you suggest a program or sign up for deadline reminders, we keep what you send — including your name and email if you provide them — so we can verify the listing or send the reminder. Suggestion details may be published as part of the directory; your contact details are not.

Service providers

The site runs on hosting, database, authentication, and (once reminders are live) email delivery services that process this data on our behalf. They are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Deleting your data

You can edit or clear your farm profile any time from your dashboard. To delete your account and everything attached to it, send a request through the suggest form on the directory and we'll remove it. We keep data only as long as your account is active.

Children

This site is meant for people running or starting a farm business and isn't directed at children under 13.
