Small Farm Fund Finder is a free, hand-curated directory of funding and technical assistance for small farms and food businesses, plus tools to help you decide what to apply for. It is informational only. We are not a lender, a grant maker, a government agency, or your advisor, and using this site does not create any professional relationship.
Accuracy and your responsibility
Deadlines, funding amounts, cost-share rates, and eligibility rules change constantly, and sign-up periods sometimes close early or reopen without notice. Everything here — including readiness tiers, blockers, and "not a fit" explanations — is our best reading of published program rules, not an eligibility determination. Before you spend time or money on an application, confirm the details on the official program page and with the administering office (your local NRCS, FSA, extension, state agriculture department, or the nonprofit running the program). You are responsible for anything you submit to a funder.
No affiliation, no endorsement
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by USDA or any agency, organization, or lender listed here. Program names and links are included for identification only. Outside links are provided for convenience; we do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their handling of your information.
Your account and acceptable use
- Keep your sign-in details secure; you're responsible for activity on your account.
- Enter accurate information about your operation. The plan you get back is only as good as what you put in.
- Don't scrape in bulk, resell the listings as your own product, or use the site to submit false or misleading suggestions.
- Don't attempt to access other users' profiles, goals, or saved applications, or otherwise interfere with the service.
Organizations and assisted sessions
If you use this site as staff at a conservation district, extension office, or nonprofit, you agree to run sessions only with the farmer present and informed, to never tick a farmer's consent box on their behalf, and to treat farm information you can see as confidential to that farmer. Access is granted by the farmer and can be removed by them at any time. Drafts you start that are never claimed are deleted after 90 days.
Small Farm Fund Finder is not an NRCS-certified Technical Service Provider, does not produce conservation plans, and is not affiliated with USDA or any listed agency. Using this tool does not constitute technical assistance for the purposes of any cooperative agreement or cost-share requirement. Activity reports produced here are activity records, not outcome records.
Content you send us
When you suggest a program or send feedback, you give us permission to publish, edit, and distribute that submission as part of the directory. Don't send anything confidential or anything you don't have the right to share.
Availability and liability
The site is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. It's a work in progress and may be unavailable, incomplete, or wrong at times. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for missed deadlines, denied applications, lost funding, or any other loss arising from your use of the site.
Changes
We may update these terms as the site grows. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms. Questions, corrections, or takedown requests can be sent through the suggest a program form on the directory.
